Han (early 20s), a North Korean defector who visited the North Korean embassy in China in mid-2019 to get out of the chain of human trafficking. What happened to his fate?

According to Daily NK's sources in North Korea on the 14th, the incident dates back to the winter of 2018, when Mr. Han owed a huge debt while smuggling. The rich (錢主)s asked China's Daebang for a job while undergoing a so-called "debt training.".

Mr. Han was so encouraged by 풀싸롱 Daebang's announcement that he would send him as a Chinese rich house cleaning helper. However, things did not go so smoothly. Mr. Han arrived at a bar, contrary to his promise.

Han, who couldn't even speak such simple Chinese, was trafficked for CNY 10,000 (about KRW 1.74 million) and was trapped in the basement of a bar.

But he couldn't give up. Han had a family to support and a hometown to return.

Han, who had endured the humiliation for seven months, finally escaped from hell. That was the summer of 2019.

Han, who had no relatives or place to go, naturally recalled the North Korean Embassy in China. Fortunately, he had memorized the phone number.

Now, thinking of going back to his hometown, he cried, "I'm from Hyesan (Yanggang). Please help me go back to Joseon (North Korea). My elderly parents are hungry.".

But the voice over the phone was cold, and it also gave an unexpected response: An embassy official who asked a lot of things said, "If you want to go home, go to the public security (公安, police station) and turn yourself in right away.".

Mr. Han did not understand. When he was quiet for a long time, the employee said, "Even if you enter the embassy, it takes a long time to go back, so bring the expenses for your living. Then I can think about it.".

The North Korean embassy appears to have judged that he was not a special object through a background check and saw Mr. Han as a nuisance, blatantly revealing his intention not to take responsibility for his personal problems.

Mr. Han had no choice. He thought that if he believed in public security, he could be trafficked again, but he didn't have any money in his hands. He shouted, "Save me," but the only answer that came back was, "Choose.".

At that time, the bar owner was determined to catch Han all over the place with a close public security officer. Afterwards, he even mobilized gangsters, and Han was eventually taken back that way.

"It is said that Han was assaulted while running away again, but it is currently unclear whether he is alive or not," a source said. "There are more Korean women who have quietly disappeared without anyone's help than I thought."
